The Rules/Joining process: Please Read

:bulletred:To join, new members need an original literary work-in-progress in mind before joining the group.(See group rules for more details)
:bulletred: If you are still interested, click the "join" button. In the join request window that pops up, there is a blank section with "Note" written above it. In that comment area, you need to submit a 25 word summary(a 5 sentence paragraph) of the story you are planning to submit to the group. Afterwards, you will be contacted. Once you have joined and a folder made for you, you can start submitting.
:bulletred: If you don't follow this process, your request will be denied. You can re-request membership following the rules above.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
:bulletorange:We only accept stories that are literary works in progress that includes novels, novella, and short stories. Note: Short stories must be a WIP and must be at least 800 words long. Anything below 1500 words will be looked at carefully.
:bulletorange:If you have a story that is self-published or in the mist of being published, don’t submit it or any part of the story to the group. I see self-publishing or other forms of publishing as your work is complete. Logically it is no longer a WIP.
:bulletorange:We do accept mature content but you must follow DA's rules. Those rules state mature content need to a mature content filter placed on it. Not doing so goes against DA’s rules. If you break those rules the offending piece it will be reported and removed from the group until a filter is added.
:bulletorange:You must be actively writing to stay in the group. Activity can include commenting and discussing to what is written in a blog, participating in contests, or any other group activity.
:bulletorange: A member has 4 months before going inactive, before a note is sent to them. If there is no response in 1 week, that member's folder will be removed and all its contents will be placed in "The Archive" folder. The only way for member's contents to get removed from The Archive, and a personal folder given to them again, they need to note the group stating they will be active again.
:bulletorange: If you are not planning to participate in the group anymore, please feel free to note the group.
:bulletorange: No fan-fics allowed.
:bulletorange: You can submit story related content to your folder. That includes character profiles, setting profiles, race profiles, related poetry, and other tidbits. Also if you submit these extra’s please make a note of it in the comments or your submission might be delete.
:bulletorange: No art work allowed unless it is story related.
:bulletorange: Please submit to the correct folder.
:bulletblue: If any of these rules are broken, a note will be sent to the member explaining why. This only happens twice for each member. If a third offense is made, I will do what is necessary without notification.
:bulletpurple: Not a rule but it is suggested that you follow the group blog. I update the group at least once a week with news around to community and what is currently going on in the group.

Contests:
CURRENT CONTEST: CLOSED
After a long time of consideration, I decided to close Lit-WIP.

That's pretty straight forward and my reasoning is as well.

I've been thinking about this for over three months now and talked myself out of it. What convinced me was attending the event that took place yesterday related to this:

Let's Talk about the Lit Community...:new: Just a reminder that chat event is TODAY at 8pm GMT (We're technically in BST!) what time is that for me?
Greetings all!

Almost all of us on deviantART want to know how we are doing. We also know that to get any element of an answer, we have to put a lot of work in ourselves. It all sounds very exhausting, doesn't it?
We would like to openly discuss solutions the community can enact from within. This isn't just "what can the CVs do", but what can YOU do too. We don't want to waste good effort on the wrong things and moreso, we want to try to encourage more of you to get involved as individuals.
Let's look at the results from the #

There was a number of topics discussed and I missed probably the first hour and the end because my internet crapped out. However, someone did bring up the topic of groups which has been a main concern of mine with in the past six months. I don't think anything was decided on it because I'm not sure there could really be a way with combating the number of groups and waning activity across the board because of all these groups that no one has time for. That would be a fight against human nature, I think. If we were living in a perfect world, the first action would be shutting down at least 100+ groups that do the exact same thing as another and helping out those more active groups. That is essentially what I'm doing. Closing this one down in hopes to help another group. Grant it it is one group but I want to do this. The time of Lit-WIP has passed.

Since it was a club to now, the community has changed.  In that there are pockets and maybe some pockets can join together.
There are a few groups and people I feel that I should bring forward.
:iconliterarycompass:  I know, :iconladylincoln: does a monthly journal features for "Ladies of Lit" and  she does "30 Writers you should know". I thought that there was one for Men of Lit??? but I don't know if that feature still exists. If it does, leave a comment below. I'm sure that there are a few more places to get spotlight like in journal features and such. I'm sure there are a few more groups I can list here as well and they could use the love.

Critiques :iconprojectcomment: :iconbeta-readers:---> don't know how behind on things they are, I just know they are.
:iconthewrittenrevolution:--->just a good group overall

If you want to stay in touch with the community I suggest watching :iconirrevocablefate:'s journals.

Prompts...you guys know how horrible I am at giving the idea of those love. If someone knows a good prompt group, please list below.

As for me???
I'm not to sure what I want to do. I want to do something but I don't know what. I know I wish to do something to do with writing and helping writers.  Right now, I'm probably going to take the time and throw out a number of watches for some of you active members and writers that I know. I'm not closing the group until Friday of this week for that purpose. If there is someone who is represented in this gallery you wish to watch, I just want it easier for you to find their name.

Thank you to all who have stuck around, both members and watchers and those who have helped keep this group running.

All folders should be locked and no membership requests shall be answered.

Questions and comments to this journal shall be read and commented on still until closure.

Thank you All

:salute:

From what I understood, new members will be contacted upon acceptance of their membership. Unfortunately, I accidentally deleted the Correspondence notification...can I instead be contacted via note?

It doesn't look like I've received any note yet. Sorry for being so needy, but is it ok if you can resend it? Thanks
